Mustang Sailing is an RYA recognised training centre. We teach shorebased
theory at our training centre at Ringmer near Lewes in Central Sussex,
and we sail on the Solent out of Universal Marina on the Hamble river.

First we would like to tell you about something we are doing for
injured servicemen and women.
A donation of £45 to Help for Heroes gets you aboard our training
yacht Thunderbolt for a days sailing in the Solent. Skippered by one
of our instructors, many of whom have a military background, you are
sure to have a cracking day out in a wonderful sailing area.
All monies go to Help for Heroes, you donate straight to them, we
do the rest.

Theory Courses: Shorebased in Sussex
We teach navigation and seamanship in our classrooms: RYA Day Skipper
theory, Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore theory and Yachtmaster
Ocean. In addition we offer all of the RYA one-day specialist courses,
Sea Survival, Offshore Safety, VHF / DSC Radio, First Aid, Diesel
Engine Maintenance, and Radar.
Sailing Courses: Practical training in the Solent and beyond
Our practical sailing courses: RYA Competent Crew, RYA Day Skipper,
RYA Coastal Skipper and RYA Yachtmaster prep take place in the Solent
and surrounding waters. Milebuilding trips take us all over, including
across the English Channel to France. Available at the weekend and
during the week our practical courses are run on a well kept, spacious
yacht with a maximum of four students to a course.
Consolidation Training
A chance to 'beef up' your skills. Whether gained on a practical
Day Skipper or Coastal Skipper course or through experience many students
enjoy an opportunity to consolidate their boat handling and sail trimming
abilities. Run at the weekend these two day courses are a time and
cost effective way to practice hands on skills
Own Boat tuition
We can come to you and train you on your own vessel, own-boat tuition
is the fast, focussed way to build skills. Totally flexible, we can
deliver an RYA course to you and your crew where and when suits you,
even over a number of separate days. Training can be specific to your
needs, a VHF radio course and radar too, using your kit? Boat handling,
your first cross channel trip?
One to One Tuition
We can come to your home or office and deliver bespoke theory courses.

Sailing for fun: Relaxed days out in the Solent and beyond
Sailing for the fun of it, no agenda or syllabus to follow. Just
come along and enjoy a day on the water. Participate as much or as
little as you please. Affordable and accessible leisure sailing. Think
of it as going sailing with your friends. Call to discuss dates, no
silly charges for organising something just for you.
Vouchers
Any of our courses can be paid for in full or part with one of our
vouchers. Available to any value, or for a specific course or event.
Travel & Accommodation
Getting to our training centre is easy, we are a ten minute taxi
ride from Lewes Railway station and we are well connected by road
for students coming from Kent, London and the South Coast, close to
Brighton, Newhaven and Eastbourne. International students should fly
into London Gatwick, there is a direct rail link to Lewes.
Accommodation to suit all tastes is available nearby. Practical courses
are residential - you stay on the boat.
